how do I add genie plus to my tickets/reservations in advance? Thank you, Ryan

Hey there, Ryan! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for thinking of us to help answer your question about Disney Genie+ Service!

Your visit to Disneyland Resort is coming up in just a few short days - how exciting! You have definitely chosen a spectacular time to visit as you'll be able to experience all the event offerings of the Disney100 Celebration, which kicks off January 27!

Now, it sounds to me like you've already purchased your tickets and made your theme park reservations for your upcoming visit. That's great news! Unfortunately, that means that you'll need to wait until you scan your tickets at the park entrance in order to purchase and add on Disney Genie+ Service for your day. Genie+ Service can be added in advance only at the time of ticket purchase. But don't worry, Ryan, adding Genie+ on the day of your visit is quite simple if you follow some key steps:

    • If you haven't already done so, I suggest you download and familiarize yourself with the official Disneyland mobile app. Be sure to link your tickets in your account and use the "My Future Plans" feature to verify your park reservations for your visit.
    • Make sure your preferred payment method is updated and stored for future payments. You can locate this by tapping the three horizontal lines in the bottom right-hand corner of your app screen, then scrolling down until you see the "My Profile" section.
    • At the point at which your ticket is scanned on the day of your visit, you'll be able to make your Disney Genie+ Service purchase and then begin booking those Lightning Lane return times throughout your day! Availability can be limited for day-of purchases, so I recommend starting the day early to get the most out of this service.
Ryan, if you're like me and you just can't wait to start the planning process, I suggest you try using the complimentary Disney Genie service in advance of your visit (even from home!) When you open the mobile app, you'll see a recommendation to "Get Started" with Disney Genie service. Tap on that button and select the date and theme park you'll be visiting before inputting your preferences for attractions, dining, entertainment, and more. The magic of the lamp will grant you personalized recommendations for how to maximize your day, and it's a great way to familiarize yourself with the layout and features of Genie+ service ahead of your visit.

I hope this is a helpful start, Ryan, and if we can offer any other tips or advice, please come back and visit us at planDisney. We love sharing our experiences with fellow guests like yourself!

Wishing you magical memories for a lifetime,
