How do i add a "fast pass" to my park reservations?

Hey there, Steven. I'm so glad you've stopped by planDisney with your question. I see that you have a Walt Disney World vacation coming up in November, that's such a great time to visit! My family and I love visiting around that time. The Walt Disney World Theme Parks and Resort Hotels are so festive with all of the holiday decorations set up, it's amazing!

Steven, since the reopening of Walt Disney World last summer the FastPass+ program has not yet returned to us. There has been no announcement made as to if or when we might see it return. I've been keeping an eye over on the Disney Parks Blog for an announcement but we haven't had one yet. If the program is brought back before your vacation later this year, you will be able to include it on your reservation in some form so no worries there. Just keeping checking back here or over on the blog for updates. Until then, the standard queue is going to be your only option for experiencing your must-do attractions. What I suggest is arriving as early as possible to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks to cut down on your waiting time. With limited park capacity, we are still seeing lower wait times for most attractions throughout the day. By arriving early, you can get in a handful of things before the parks tend to start feeling busy. My family and I typically arrive at a Walt Disney World Theme Park about 45 minutes prior to the scheduled opening time. This gives up time to park, go through security, enter the theme park and head to our first attraction of the day even before the park is technically opened. Lately, we've been getting a lot of pixie dust sprinkled on us because most of the time we are able to experience a few attractions before the opening time each day we've been at the theme parks. They've been opening up the gates early to cut down on the number of people congregating at the front. It's been great! However, a few weeks ago when we drove down for a quick weekend, we didn't arrive at Magic Kingdom Park until lunchtime. We weren't expecting to do much at the park other than grabbing a bite to eat for lunch since I always feel like this time of day tends to be the busiest. Much to my surprise, I checked the wait times on the MyDisneyExperience app and one of my favorite attractions, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, only had a 15-minute wait. So we decided to walk over there to check it out. Not only did the queue look short, we actually walked straight on the attraction. I couldn't believe it - a walk-on ride right in the middle of the day. It was awesome!

Until the park capacity is greatly increased, there really isn't a need for the FastPass+ program right now. I've enjoyed the flexibility of going around the theme parks without having to keep an eye on my watch for return times for attractions. It's been nice! I hope this helps, Steven. If you have any other questions please do come back and ask me. I'm here to help! Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
