During the temporary closure and reopening period of Walt Disney World Resort, the FastPass+ system was retired.
Disney Genie service debuted in the fall of 2021. Disney Genie+ allows Guests to reserve
Lightning Lane access to over 40 rides and attractions, one at a time. Guests may purchase tickets that include Disney Genie+, or purchase Disney Genie+ through the
My Disney Experience mobile app on the date they plan to use it. Because Guests may
reserve their first Lightning Lane attraction beginning at 7:00 am, I recommend completing your purchase a few minutes prior to 7:00 so you are all set and ready to go. To purchase Disney Genie+ for same-day use, use the menu button to select “My Genie Day” and scroll down a bit to the purple banner where you see “Get Disney Genie+ for Today”.
Some of the most popular attractions have been designated as Individual Lightning Lane attractions. Lightning Lane access for these attractions is purchased a la carte; Guests do not need to have purchased Disney Genie+ in order to purchase Individual Lightning Lanes. Use the Tip Board in the My Disney Experience app to select and purchase Individual Lightning Lane access. Guests may purchase up to two Individual Lightning Lanes per day. Guests staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel may make their purchases beginning at 7:00 am; all other Guests may purchase at the scheduled park opening time.
I recommend taking a little time to explore the Tip Board to get an idea of how Disney Genie+ works prior to the date of your visit. It may seem intimidating at first, but once you begin using Disney Genie+, it will seem much more intuitive.
