Welcome to planDisney, Jacklynn. It's so nice to meet you!
So you want to add more people to your reservation at the Walt Disney World Resort? That means more ohana. And we know what ohana means, right? No one gets left behind! As Stitch would say, this is your family. You found them, all on your own.
If you’re feeling a little overwhelmed figuring out how to add everyone, you’re not alone. Even Stitch admits he's lost sometimes. Let’s walk through it together.
If you are adding family members to a vacation package or room-only reservation, you would select "
My Plans and Tickets" from the My Disney Experience dropdown menu, find your reservation details, select the "Change Reservation" option, then click "Change" next to "Travel Party," and follow the prompts. Of course, if you encounter any issues, you can
reach out to a friendly Cast Member. They are always happy to help! Just be aware that you cannot go over the maximum capacity of the room, and you would be responsible for the price difference.
If you are simply adding theme park tickets, either you or your family members would purchase them through the website, and then you'll want to ensure that you add them to your
My Family & Friends list. To do this, select "My Family & Friends" from the My Disney Experience dropdown menu, select the blue "Add a Guest" button, and follow the prompts. Once you've either added them or they have accepted your invite, you'll likely want to go back to the My Family & Friends list, find them, select "Edit Settings" next to their name, and toggle on and off the settings you want for each person. I typically allow them to view and modify all my plans and my Disney PhotoPass photos. It just makes planning so much easier!
Jacklynn, 2026 is shaping up to be a wonderful time to visit the resort. Not only do you have new experiences like
Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After and
Zootopia: Better Zoogether! already opened, but there are plenty of new experiences coming at some point in the year. Some are sooner rather than later, like the addition of
brand-new, state-of-the-art Audio Animatronics to Frozen Ever After. Some are mid-year, like the return of the fun and fabulous
Cool Kids' Summer,
Soarin' Across America, and
the Mandalorian and Grogu joining Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. And some are later on this year, like
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets. Plus, don't forget that somewhere in there,
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is coming back better than ever. I think
that's the one I'm most excited about!
Jacklynn, please don't hesitate to
reach out again with any other questions.
Here’s to making room for more ohana and more magic,
Matt
