Hello, Margaret, and a
warm welcome back to planDisney, thank you for your excellent question!
Disney’s Disability Access Service, commonly referred to as the DAS, is an accommodation that will offer Guests options if they have difficulty with their tolerance level for long wait times at an attraction queue. This accommodation is one of many thoughtful
services for Guests with disabilities, as Walt Disney World Resort continually strives to afford all Guests an enjoyable, and inclusive visit.
Margaret, in short, anyone in your updated
Family & Friends list can be included in your DAS Guestlist, and not necessarily need to be present at Guest Relations inside any theme park, provided they have valid theme park admission, because that is what will be used to associate or link your friends to your DAS accommodation. That being said, I always like to pop in to check that all in my DAS Guestlist are properly linked and available for selection, since Guest Relations is just inside as I enter the theme parks, and I'm passing by anyway.
Registration for the DAS accommodation can be completed one of two ways:
1. DAS Advance, pre-registration via a virtual video chat with a Cast Member, from 2 days before arrival, up to 30 days before arrival.
2. In-person at Guest Relations inside any of the four theme parks.
To prepare for consultation and registration, either with DAS Advance virtually or in-person at Guest Relations, please note:
1. Ensure that the Guest who will need the DAS accommodation is present for the registration process either during the virtual video chat or at the Guest Relations locations inside any of the four theme parks. If the accommodation is deemed applicable, the Guest registering for the DAS will have a photo taken.
2. Ensure your
Family & Friends list is up to date and that those who wish to be on the DAS Guestlist have valid theme park admission.
Pro Tip - the DAS accommodation can be used with the
Disney Genie and Disney Genie+ services.
It was my pleasure assisting you, Margaret, and I look forward to any further questions you may have.
Best Disney Wishes ~ Jacqueline
