Hi there, Nathan! Welcome back to planDisney! I see that you and your wife have already discovered one of the most magical things to do at the Happiest Place on Earth - EAT! You truly cannot go wrong at any of the restaurants at the Disneyland Resort. Each brings so much to the table in terms of feel, taste, and design ... and you know those Chefs are cooking up some magic in the kitchens!
I'm happy to see that both you and your wife have fired up your
Disneyland Mobile App ahead of your visit. It's basically like having the one and only Genie in your pocket helping you to plan your best Disney days! Nathan, you have discovered the one small ingredient missing from the park planning tool. At the moment, there is no way to share
dining reservations between Guests so that they show up under everyone's "Future Plans". I know, there are so many phenomenal cosmic powers within the app it's a wonder why this is not possible. As a workaround, I usually send calendar invites from my phone to my friends and family with alerts 15 minutes ahead of our reservation so we all know when it's time to head to the restaurant. Another trick I've done is to take a screenshot of the day and send it to my fellow Guests first thing in the morning so they can follow along from there. As Disney planners, I know we like to have all the magic lined up in one place, but these do the trick!
While we are talking about Genie, I do recommend spending a little time in the app ahead of your trip to see exactly what he can help you with during your time in the parks. If you navigate to the "+" in the bottom navigation bar, select "View My Genie Day and Tip Board", and toggle to the "My Day" tab, you will see a button to "Get Started Now". For each day of your trip, you can select specific attractions, interests, and even restaurants that are on your must-do list. On the morning of each park day around 7 a.m., Genie will load in a personalized itinerary JUST FOR YOU based on these selections. He will even continue to make suggestions as you move through your day depending on wait times! You've truly never had a friend like him! After using this a few times in the park myself, I would try to keep the selections to a total of 5 per day and have it be a mix of attractions (Hello, Space Mountain!), interests (Hiya, Jedis!), and experiences (Hi there, Main Street Electrical Parade!) so that Genie knows he needs to prioritize those for you. It's SO easy to just select everything because, of course, you want to do everything at the Disneyland Resort! But alas, this is why we all love coming back again and again as there is always lots to do! The best part about this
Disney Genie Service? It's complimentary! Yes, complimentary!
Nathan, my last tip for today is to tune into the new
planDisney Podcast. I can tell you are a planner, and you are going to love listening (or watching!) these new episodes filled with all kinds of insider advice! Episode 2 is ALL about the Disneyland Resort, but you won't want to miss the latest which will fill you in on all things Halloween and Holidays. Oh! You also can't miss the special May the 4th Episode talking all things
Star Wars! The podcast is a great way to get excited about your trip ... and maybe even to start planning the next one!
Off to Neverland you go, Nathan! If you have any more questions, we are always here for you at
planDisney.
Magic awaits!
