Making cash-free payments has become so easy across Walt Disney World Resort, and with technology like
Disney MagicMobile our days have been achievable with just a series of taps. Having both your credit cards handy in a digital wallet or even
using a MagicBand+ to make purchasing items a hands-free experience are both always very useful, but I do have some personal tips and insights that you may find helpful:
- In my personal experience, making a payment by tapping your mobile device is possible but not always entirely reliable depending on the Cast Member and the location. While it's been quite simple to purchase merchandise at locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort via this method most of the time, I've encountered situations where the Cast Member let me know their reader may not be functioning and having a physical card handy definitely saved the day. You may also find that paying at the end of a Table Service meal may not be as smooth as presenting a physical card when you receive the bill; our server recently had to awkwardly ask whether they could take the phone away to complete the payment or accompany him over to the machine.
There's always a number of technical glitches or mishaps that may occur like unexpectedly running out of battery on your mobile device, so carrying at least one reliable payment card with me was something that I learned the hard way. Though I prefer to play it safe, I do hope that you won't encounter any issues on your Disney adventures next month; it sure seems like a lot of excitement is in the air surrounding
