Hiya Chris - welcome to
planDisney!
Thanks so much for stopping by to ask about adding the new
Disney Genie+ service to your Theme Park ticket! Whenever some new pixie dust gets sprinkled on Walt Disney World Resort vacations, there can be some confusion, and while I'm still learning too, I'm definitely here to help with a solution for your Stitchuation.
Adding Genie+ to your one-day Theme Park ticket is a great way to maximize the magic and ensure you'll be able to experience all the attractions on your must-do list! Some tickets can be purchased with Genie+ included at the time of purchase, but doing so requires adding Genie+ for all days of multi-day tickets for all Guests. Some tickets can be modified to add Genie+ in advance, but there are limitations, and to be honest, I'm still getting used to the new system too!
The good news is that if you only need to add Genie+ to your one-day ticket, it's simple and quick to do on the day you want to use it! In fact, I really prefer taking this route regardless of what kind of tickets or Annual Passes my crew is using.
To add Genie+ to your ticket(s), go to the
My Disney Experience Mobile App any time after 12:00 a.m. (midnight) the day you want to add Genie+. I usually do this in the morning, just before 7 a.m. (more on that in a moment). On the main app screen, tap
My Day, or use the menu icon in the lower right corner (three horizontal lines, sometimes called a sandwich or stack menu icon), then tap
My Genie Day. You'll want to scroll down just a bit and tap the purple bar that says
Get Disney Genie+ for Today. From there you can purchase Genie+ for yourself and any linked Friends & Family with valid Theme Park tickets and Park Pass Reservations for that day. Once that's done, starting at 7 a.m. you can make your first Genie+
Lightning Lane selection of the day before heading to the theme parks!
I hope you have a great visit this weekend - I'll be following close behind arriving on Monday!
Please let me know if any other questions pop up that I can help with!
