Can I add my Disney gift cards to my magic band before I make any charges? I’d rather my charges go to the gift cards first before the credit card on file. Thanks!

    Hi Allison!

I'm glad to see you are planning to use MagicBands during your upcoming vacation! It's so nice to have access to your theme park tickets, Lightning Lane reservations and Disney PhotoPass account with just the touch of your MagicBand. Plus, if you are staying at one of the Disney Resort hotels, you will be able to unlock your hotel room door and make purchases throughout the resort that will be charged to your room account. In fact, I often find myself accidentally touching my wrist to payment locations at Orlando International Airport after a magical vacation because I've gotten so used to using my MagicBand during my trip!

Any purchases you make using your MagicBand will automatically be applied to your hotel account. Unfortunately, there's no way to directly link Disney Gift Cards to your MagicBand or your hotel reservation, but you can use your Disney Gift Card to pay for the charges on your room account. Simply head to your Disney Resort hotel front desk and let them know you would like to use your Disney Gift Card to pay for the charges on your account and they will process those charges onto your gift card. Keep in mind that you will still need to have a credit card attached to your account and your account charges are generally billed to your credit card overnight on the last night of your trip. So I recommend that you visit the front desk no later than the morning before your check-out day to apply your account charges to your Disney Gift Card.

Allison, be sure to download the My Disney Experience mobile app because it will allow you to view your room account right from your phone. It will also give you access to Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering, which is a great way to save time while dining during your trip. Feel free to let us know if you have additional questions as your trip approaches! T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
