Hi Amalia and welcome to planDisney!
I just love saving up my
Disney Gift Cards throughout the year to use on our Walt Disney World vacations! You can use them to pay for pretty much anything at the theme parks,
Disney Resort hotels and
Disney Springs. All of my family know that gift cards are the perfect gift for me since we are usually heading to Disney soon.
Unfortunately, there isn't a way to link your Disney Gift Cards directly to your
MagicBands, but if you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can charge everything to your room folio account using your MagicBand and then use your gift cards to pay off your room charge balance. We usually head to the front desk at the end of each day to pay off our balance because at some point, the credit card you have on file gets charged when you hit a certain amount. If this does happen and you still want to use your gift cards to pay, they can reverse the credit card charge and use your gift cards instead.
You cannot use your MagicBand or room charge for
Mobile Ordering for meals, drinks and snacks or
Merchandise Mobile Checkout in select gift shops, although I am crossing my fingers that doing any kind of mobile checkout will have the capability to be charged to our room account in the future. When using the
My Disney Experience Mobile App for purchases, I copy the gift card number into a notes app in my phone, or text it to my husband, so I can just copy/paste it on the payment screen instead of having to type it out each time. That way I still don't have to carry the physical gift cards with me.
If you have multiple gift cards, you can easily combine them on the Disney Gift Card website. Each gift card can hold a maximum of $1000, so being able to combine multiple smaller gift cards into one makes using them more convenient.
Please stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.
Have a magical day!
Leslie
