Welcome to planDisney, Sunni!
We are thrilled to answer your first question and help you plan magical memories for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit. You have come to the right place for pixie-dusted Disney vacation tips and advice!
I always use
Disney Gift Cards while visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth. I like purchasing them ahead of my Disney adventures because they are a great way to budget for my Disney vacations. While it is not possible to link a Disney Gift Card directly to your Disney account, you are welcome to use your cards as a payment method throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.
I usually buy
electronic Disney Gift Cards online and add them to my digital wallet to use my mobile device to pay for purchases while on vacation. If you already have physical cards, you can create a Disney Gift Card account online,
add your cards to your account (including e-gift cards), and transfer balances. Whenever I have physical cards, I transfer their balances to my e-gift card so I can conveniently use my phone while paying for food and merchandise. If you plan to use
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering via the My Disney Experience mobile app, you can use your Disney Gift Card as a method of payment, however, you will have to provide your card information each time you make a transaction. To make life easier and transactions faster, I create a note on my mobile phone with my card information and copy and paste the details into the app while finalizing a transaction using mobile ordering.
If you are staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you are welcome to use a MagicBand to charge purchases to your room account and then stop by
Front Desk and use your Disney Gift Card to pay for your expenses. Whenever I plan to use a Disney Gift Card, I usually visit Front Desk the night before my check-out date to avoid charges to the credit card on file.
It was a pleasure answering your question, Sunni. I hope this helps you while planning and that you have a magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
See ya real soon,
Thiana
