Hi there, Susan, and welcome to planDisney!
Disney Gift Card and Disney World vacations are like Woody and Buzz Lightyear, Mickey and Minnie, or Lilo and Stitch. I just can’t think of a better duo to make your vacation go smoothly. It’s a great way to set a budget for (almost) all of your purchases at Disney World—and beyond.
I’ll start by saying that most locations at Disney World accept Disney Gift Cards, so I love that you’re anticipating using them. From purchasing
Lightning Lanes to buying food and merchandise around property, they definitely come in handy. By the way, you may also use them at many other Disney Destinations (like when
cruising with the Mouse) or online at the
Disney Store.
You can indeed use Disney Gift Cards in the
My Disney Experience app; however, unlike most debit and credit cards, you can’t permanently add or store them. An easy way around this is to type the gift card numbers into your phone’s notes app. From there, you can copy and paste the card information right into the My Disney Experience app when you need it for mobile purchases. You can also save your Disney Gift Cards in your phone’s digital wallet for moments when you can simply tap to pay.
AN EXTRA GEM: If you check out the
official Disney Gift Card website, you’ll find that you can store up to a certain amount of cards in one place. You can check balances, combine card totals up to $1,000, and transfer amounts. I always bookmark this site for easy access when exploring the Resort.
Susan, I just know that you’re going to have the most amazing time later this month. The memories that await you will be beyond your wildest dreams. Please
revisit us here at planDisney if you have any other vacation planning questions.
Magic always,
LeAndra
