how do i add a dining plan

    Hi Glen,

It's nice to see you stopping by planDisney with a question!

How exciting to see that you are planning a visit to the Walt Disney World® Resort! If you have not yet booked a vacation package, when you go to book one on the Walt Disney World Resort® website, you should see an option to add a Disney Dining Plan in the booking process online. Or, if you call to speak to a cast member to book your vacation package, they can add one for you.

If you have already booked a vacation package with theme park tickets through the Walt Disney World® Resort, you can try to modify that package and add a dining plan online through the Walt Disney World® Resort website. Just log into your My Disney Experience account. If you cannot modify online, just call to speak to a cast member in Disney Resort Hotel Reservations and they should be able to assist. If you booked with a travel agency or third party, you will need to check with them to inquire about adding a Disney Dining Plan.

I am delighted to see that you are considering adding a Disney Dining Plan. My family loves to use the Disney Dining Plan and it has always been a great value for us. Prior to making advanced dining reservations, we do sit down and select the restaurants we want to experience. We then check the dining plan usage at each restaurant so that we know how many meals a dining location will require at each meal period. For example, we love to dine at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. From the web page for the restaurant, click on View Dining Plans and Discounts. At this time, this location would require one meal for breakfast and two for lunch or dinner from the Disney Dining Plan. So, we would typically make a reservation for breakfast.

Glen, remember that your dining plan allocates meals per night of stay. So, be sure to consider how many total meals you will have on the dining plan and review the dining plan requirements at each restaurant. Consider what time you will arrive on your first day and what time you will depart on the last day so that you can be sure to spread your meals across each day of your trip.

Sending you a little extra pixie dust trusting that you will make some delectable choices for dining!

    Magic and memories,
