Hi there, Leslie!
Now you’re talking! Adding even more magic to your Disneyland Resort vacation sounds like my kind of
adventure.
In most cases, standard
theme park tickets may be upgraded to tickets of equal or greater value. Upgrades must be done in person at the main entrance ticket booths, with the difference in price being paid at that time. It is usually best to upgrade a ticket before using it. If a ticket is partially used, it must still be valid (before its last day is used and before its expiration date) and the new ticket must have at least the same entitlements (e.g.
Park Hopper and
Disney Genie+) as the partially used ticket.
With the issue of the new ticket during an upgrade,
theme park reservations may need to be rebooked. If you check the
theme park reservation availability calendar and are worried that reservations may not be available if you wait to upgrade your ticket, you may purchase a new ticket before traveling and book your park reservations at that time. Normally, park tickets are non-refundable. But in the case of needing to upgrade a ticket before arriving at the Disneyland Resort, the Cast Members at the ticket booths may be able to cancel a wholly unused ticket and provide a refund when given evidence that a replacement ticket of higher value has already been purchased. Also, unused park tickets may be used at a future date until the ticket expiration date. Even the
value of expired tickets may be applied toward the purchase price of a new ticket.
I hope you are taking advantage of the last few days of Summer to explore the magic of the Disneyland Resort and check off your list of
must-do activities. It’s not too late to experience the
Main Street Electrical Parade and
Disneyland Forever fireworks before they
“glow away” on September 1st.
Have a magical time, Leslie!
