Can you add cash to your hotel account in order to use it for purchases with your magic band? That way you don’t have to carry a lot of cash on you and you can just use your band for purchases

Hi Megan! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Your trip is SO close! You are going to love all of the special things happening at the Walt Disney World Resort this Incredible Summer, especially the all-new Toy Story Land in Disney's Hollywood Studios.

While you can't add cash to your MagicBand prior to charging to your account, you can use cash to pay off the balance of your purchases at your Disney Resort hotel. You will still have to have a credit card linked to your account in order to charge purchases to your Disney Resort hotel account, but the charges aren't instantly made to your credit card. Instead, the charges are added to your account, then either charged to the credit card at check-out or when you reach the limit in place at your Disney Resort hotel. Ask a Cast Member at the Front Desk when you check in what that limit is, then make sure to make a cash payment at the Front Desk before you hit that limit. I would head to the Front Desk to pay off your balance in cash the night before check-out, as well.

I hope this helps with your vacation preparations, Megan! Let us know if you have any other questions.
