Hiya, Laurie!
My family and I have chosen to use
Disney Gift Cards to pay for nearly all of our Disney Parks vacation experiences. We find them useful to help us budget for our visits and conveniently make
dining,
shopping, and
hotel purchases without worrying about carrying around cash or other forms of payment.
There are two ways to add funds to an existing Disney Gift Card. First, you can purchase another Disney Gift Card, even a
Disney Gift Card eGift, and use the
My Cards page of the Disney Gift Card website to transfer funds from one card to another. The other way to
reload a Disney Gift Card is to visit a Disney-operated location that sells Disney Gift Cards and add funds, anywhere from $5 to $1000, to a gift card at a store register. With either method for reloading or transferring funds to a Disney Gift Card, the maximum amount that can be stored on a given card is $1000.
Tony’s Tip: This tip is about tipping. Did you know that you can use a Disney Gift Card to pay for not only the price of your food but also the tip for your server at most
table service restaurants at the Disneyland Resort? Just make sure that the Disney Gift Card you hand to your server at the end of your meal has enough funds to cover the extended total. When you receive your check back to sign, simply fill in the tip amount as you would for a restaurant check paid using a credit card. After you leave the restaurant, be sure to give your server a few moments to finalize the check before you use the same gift card for other purchases. You can also
check the gift card balance on the Disney Gift Card website to verify the tip has cleared the card as well.
I hope you have a most magical time at the Disneyland Resort, Laurie! Please let us know if you have any more questions.
See ya real soon!
~Tony
