Hi Angie,
It's great to see you continuing to plan Disney with planDisney. Isn't it fun to see your cast of characters grow up at The Most Magical Place on Earth? Walt Disney World Resort attraction height sticks are my children's growth charts and they're almost big enough to ride everything now. The last milestone is being tall enough to drive their own cars on Tomorrowland Speedway. Slow down, time!
If you're staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, Angie, your entire family can use your
MagicBands to charge incidentals and merchandise to your hotel account. You activate this perk by setting up a payment method during online check-in or with a helpful Cast Member at your Resort hotel Front Desk. An important part of this process is assigning a 4-digit PIN number that must be entered to complete all MagicBand transactions. I just completed the online check-in process myself and assigned the same PIN number for my entire family. With privilege comes responsibility so we will be talking to our kids about the ground rules before we arrive. If need be, changes to who gets charging privileges can be modified throughout the trip.
It's important to understand the distinction between MagicBand charges and My Disney Experience charges. A payment method can only be linked to an adult's
My Disney Experience account. This means that children under the age of 18 cannot make purchases in the
My Disney Experience mobile app like Disney Genie+ service or mobile food and beverage orders, though they can pay with their MagicBands in person at any quick-service restaurant. The workaround for Genie+ is to have an adult purchase the service for the children (assuming everyone is connected as
Family and Friends) in the My Disney Experience mobile app before 7:00 a.m. Once the purchase is made, the children can make Genie+ Lightning Lane reservations throughout the day.
Can't wait to hear from you again soon, Angie. You are the magic!
Plan magic; planDisney.
Jennifer
