How do I add allergy information to my already-booked dining reservations?

    Hiya Diane!

Welcome back to planDisney, this time with a food allergy question! I want to start by giving you a little peace of mind. When it comes to food allergies, Disney World truly does an incredible job. As a mom to a child who is lactose intolerant and someone with food sensitivities myself, I can honestly say Disney always goes above and beyond to make dining safe, comfortable, and still magical. My daughter loves eating at Disney for this very reason.

Now let’s jump right into your question. You have a few great options. One is to call Disney Dining directly and ask to modify your dining reservation to note the allergy. This allows you to speak with a Cast Member who can make sure everything is documented correctly ahead of time.

Another option is to update it right in the My Disney Experience app. To do this, tap the three lines in the bottom corner, select My Plans, choose the date of your dining reservation, tap the reservation, then select Modify to add the allergy information.

If you’re unable to update it in advance for any reason, no worries at all. When you check in at the host stand, simply let the Cast Member know about the allergy or food restriction. This has happened to me more than once, and they always ask at check-in anyway. From there, your server will also confirm the allergy at the table to make sure nothing is missed.

Once seated, you’ll be given an allergy-friendly menu, and in many cases, the chef will even come out to talk with you personally. Sometimes there are more options available than what’s listed, which is always a pleasant surprise. And when your meal arrives, you’ll notice a purple pick marking allergy-safe dishes, just one more way Disney adds that extra layer of reassurance.

I hope this helps ease your mind, Diane, and lets you focus on enjoying all the magic (and delicious food!) Disney has to offer. If you have any other questions, feel free to stop by again.

    See you real soon,

    Christina
