Ahoy, Maria!
Thanks for cruising back to planDisney! Your magical vacation on the
Disney Dream is getting closer and closer every day! As a toddler mom myself, I'm happy to share more about activities for the littlest sailors.
Maria, when you're making reservations for
onboard activities, don't be alarmed if you don't find much to book ahead of time for toddlers. While some activities, like makeovers and sports simulators, will be available for older children, you'll find plenty of activities that are free and don't require reservations while you're on the ship for little ones. One activity that you might want to consider reserving ahead of time, though, is the
Royal Gathering. My youngest is excited to be "Prince Charming" to all the princesses at this special meet and greet. There is no extra charge to attend, but reservations fill quickly!
After boarding, you'll be able to access daily activity schedules in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. Some of our favorites from previous cruises have been special "Toddler Time" activities, dance parties, and character greetings. Plus,
Bluey is making her debut on the Disney Dream very shortly - my youngest son can't wait! On the pool deck, my boys have loved playing in
Nemo's Reef - a splash pad specifically designed for young sailors who are still in swim diapers. I was also somewhat surprised by how much my little ones have enjoyed the
Broadway-style shows each evening. I thought they might be a little young to appreciate them, but as soon as that stage filled with their favorite characters performing well-known Disney songs, they were hooked! And speaking of "hooked," don't forget to check out everything there is to enjoy on
Pirate Night. Characters will greet Guests in some swashbuckling attire, and the deck party is not-to-be-missed.
During your day at
Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, you'll find a variety of entertainment and character greetings, paired with beautiful beaches and even a festive splash area at Sebastian's Cove to explore during Open House hours. I often choose not to book
Port Adventures when visiting Disney's private destinations, as we find so much to do while off the ship to fill our day!
Finally, don't forget that you can also make reservations for your little one at
"it's a small world" Nursery if you would like to enjoy some of the adult activities during your sailing. My husband and I never pass up an opportunity to dine at
Palo when sailing on the Dream - we're all ears!
Maria, I hope this information has been helpful, and you enjoy a magical sailing! If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney!
SEA ya real soon!
