Activities for a 7 year old boy who is afraid of most rides

    Hi Carol,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

When my girls were younger, I realized that one of them really wanted to ride, but she wanted to know what would happen on the ride before she boarded it. So, when preparing for a trip to Walt Disney World, we reviewed the attractions list for each park - Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom. Together, we read the description for each attraction, then I found YouTube videos that she could watch to see what happened on the rides. She is a riding queen now!

There are definitely lots of shows, parades, fireworks and character experiences that you all could enjoy. When my girls were 7-years old, they loved bringing their autograph books and taking pictures with all of their favorite characters. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, Star Wars Launch Bay is super cool. If, by chance, your little one has an affinity for lightsabers, sign him up for Jedi Training - Trials of the Temple. Once he defeats the Dark Side, I have a suspicion that he will want to head straight to Star Tours - The Adventures Continue.

Carol, if he has a sense of swashbuckling adventure, try Pirates at Walt Disney World Resort activities. Visit Swiss Family Treehouse and Tom Sawyer Island at Magic Kingdom. I am certain you will find an adventure that intrigues him!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
