What activities (in the park) do you suggest for an autistic child?

    Hi Debbie!
I think it is great that you're going to be heading to Walt Disney World soon!! Before we get to activities, I think it is  important to consider a few housekeeping details first. Namely, where to stay. I recommend lodging at either one of the Boardwalk area resorts or one of the Magic Kingdom monorail resorts. I say this because it will greatly reduce the likelihood of long waits for buses. Also, I recommend taking breaks during the day, either having a long meal or leaving the parks altogether for a swim back at your resort. After resting, a return to a park in the evening should be more relaxing.
Also, if noise is a cause for concern with your child, you may want to remember his/her ear plugs for both attractions and parades/shows/fireworks.
Character interactions seem to be a particular favorite for any park guest and should be no different for your child. Character greeting times and locations can be found in the Times Guide for each park located where you also get park maps.
I do not know how sensitive your child is to crowds, noises, or long waits, so it is difficult to recommend specific attractions. Suffice it to say that no one knows your child better than you and if you think your child is going to enjoy something, but in order to do so may need a bit of help, please make sure you speak with the Cast Members...they do everything that they can to exceed guests' expectatons...every guest.
I hope this helps and I wish you all a Magical vacation!! :)
