Ahoy Mary –
Way to go grandma - what a coincidence because my kids have a Grandma Mary too!! I am so pleased to hear that you are in active mode for your cruise coming up this fall. One of the best things about
Disney Cruise Line is the amazing amount of activities that are available, and many of them are so fun for all ages. The most remarkable part is that there will be things you can do with your grandson and fun that you both can experience apart. Once you board the ship, you will have access to the Personal Navigator that is a complete list of all of the shows, games, character greetings and much more planned for all the guests on the ships. My mother has relished many cruises with her grandchildren, and I am happy to list some of the cool things they enjoyed together. My children (and grandma) loved the deck parties including the
Sail Away Celebration to kick off the vacation. We also had fun with the many family activities like singing
Karaoke, playing
BINGO, participating in
zany family game shows (Family Fusion, So You Think You Know Your Family), and of course the Broadway style nightly entertainment. Actively fun activities like swimming, the Sports Deck, and dance parties were also pretty cool to do with Grandma. Of course, grandma spent time relaxing in the
spa and savoring the cuisine at Palo while the sea cubs visited the
Oceaneer Club. Mary, I hope this gives you some ideas of what to do onboard, and thanks for stopping by to visit with us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
