Greetings Judith!
Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for bringing your question our way!
I’m so happy to hear that you’re planning a visit to the
Downtown Disney District! Even though the theme parks of the Disneyland Resort remain closed, there is plenty to see and do at the Downtown Disney District!
If you have not visited recently, let me tell you what to expect! Upon arrival, all Guests are required to undergo a temperature screening prior to entering the Downtown Disney District. Next, you’ll be required to pass through a security screening. And, don’t forget that in order to gain admission, all Guests age 2 and older are required to wear a face covering that is secured with ties or ear loops. Guests may only remove their face covering while actively eating or drinking outside.
Ready for some retail therapy? Head to
World of Disney,
Marceline’s Confectionery, or the all-new
Star Wars Trading Post. At times, a mobile wait list system may be utilized in order to manage the number of Guests shopping inside the stores. You’ll have the opportunity to provide your name and mobile number then receive a text message when it’s your turn to shop!
With all that shopping, you're bound to work up an appetite! You're in luck! There are plenty of places to enjoy a delicious meal! Following state and county guidelines, all restaurant seating is outdoor patio only. And, to promote physical distancing all parties will be seated at tables 6 feet apart. Also, all Guests are encouraged to use cashless payment options such as debit and credit cards, Disney Gift Cards and mobile wallet when making purchases at the Downtown Disney District.
Lastly, don’t forget to visit
Buena Vista Street! Several retail locations including Elias & Co, Julius Katz & Sons, Trolley Treats, and Kingswell Camera Shop are open so you can shop til you drop! Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to dine at Smokejumpers Grill, Fiddler, Fifer and Practical Cafe, plus enjoy treats like popcorn and popsicles from outdoor vending carts. And,
Carthay Circle Lounge offers alfresco dining with expanded outdoor seating. Be sure to make
reservations if you’re hoping to dine there!
Lastly, it’s worth noting that there is a $10 charge per car for parking (prices are subject to change without notice).
I hope you enjoy a fun-filled visit to the Downtown Disney District! Please head back to planDisney if you think of any more questions!
