Do active teachers in the state of Florida, get teacher cards or discounts? I want to surprise my boyfriend with a Disney trip because he’s 24 and he’s never ever been to Disney.

Samantha?!?  Now I can tell Olaf I know a Samantha!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney as you continue to plan what sounds like a sweet surprise trip for your boyfriend!  There is no place more magical, whether you're a kid or a kid at heart!

Samantha, unfortunately, Walt Disney World Resort does not currently offer discounts for teachers.  However, I’d encourage you to check out all of the special offers currently available, as there are some great deals that may fit with your vacation plans.  If you or your boyfriend are Florida residents, you may also want to check special deals available just for you!  It is important though to review the proof of residency requirements before purchasing any tickets or making hotel reservations using the Florida resident discounts.  You may also want to sneak a peek at the Disney Parks Blog, where some recent money-saving tips were shared.

One of the ways I like to help budget for my trips is by purchasing Disney Gift Cards.  I typically purchase them in small amounts during the weeks and months leading up to our trip and then combine their value on the Disney Gift Card website, so I have fewer cards to manage in the parks.  You can also sometimes find discounts on gift cards at some local retailers!  I also like to use my Disney Rewards Visa, which offers discounts at select dining and retail locations as well as savings on tours and other activities.  Additionally, you'll find two special character meetings reserved exclusively for cardholders (currently located at EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios), which also include free photo downloads at those locations.

If you’re staying at a hotel in the Disney Resorts Collection, you can take advantage of many great benefits, including complimentary resort transportation, complimentary parking at your hotel and the theme parks, and Early Theme Park Entry.  I’ve also found resort days to be very relaxing and packed full of fun!  Whether you’re lounging by the pool, roasting marshmallows over a campfire, or watching a favorite Disney movie under the stars, you’ll find lots to do!

Samantha, I hope this information is helpful and that you enjoy a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World Resort!  If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney!

    See ya real soon!
