Welcome to planDisney, Lauren. Thank you for your family’s service and for stopping by with such a good question.
To take advantage of
military cruise rates, not only is a US military service member (or spouse) required to sail, at least one adult in each stateroom must provide Proof of Military Service. Your military ID will suffice and you will show that when you check in. The only addition would be for U.S. National Guard or US Army Reserve members (or their spouses); they must also show active-duty orders dated as of January 1st of the previous year.
You’ll be sailing out of one of my favorite ports:
Fort Lauderdale. It’s only about 15 minutes from the airport, so it’s super convenient and there are so many great restaurants and attractions to enjoy after disembarking.
However, it looks like you might also be a Florida resident, so instead of flying in, you may be driving to the port. Something to keep in mind for future cruises:
Florida Residents can also find unique savings on ‘last-minute’ cruises. Unfortunately, you cannot combine military and resident discounts, but as a military family living in Florida, this increases your opportunities to save on future sailings.
I bet you’re already dreaming about your next adventure on Disney Cruise Line. If you think of anything else we can assist with before your voyage, don’t hesitate to sail back to us here at
planDisney!
Bon voyage,
Sami
