Christine from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I am active duty military and bringing family to stay at WDW. Does the other family and my family need to stay at the same resort to use the military discount? We WILL be present at any check-in needed. Thanks!

    Welcome to planDisney, Christine!

I’m so happy to hear you will all visit the Walt Disney World Resort this fall. Since you will be visiting during October, I recommend checking out Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. This is a separate ticket event but a fun way to enjoy Magic Kingdom in a spooktacular atmosphere. It’s so neat to see Magic Kingdom all dressed up, and did you know you can even dress up yourself? Tickets have not been made available to purchase just yet, but keep your eyes on the Disney Parks Blog for future sales information.

To book this military offer, you’ll want to give Walt Disney World Resort a call.  A Cast Member will be able to share with you all the available options to book and the rate with the military offer. I did notice that in the important details, you can see that the number of rooms allocated for this offer is also limited. The eligible service member or their spouse must also stay in the room to qualify for this discount. For safe measures, I recommend calling to book your rooms and verify the allocated room availability. In the past, I have been informed that the eligible service member can book more than one room, but they do have to be at the same resort.

When we traveled with my parents, using the Military Salute promotional tickets, my parents usually booked their room with the current special offer since we have their tickets covered under the Military Salute offer. There have also been a few occasions where the current offer has been better than the military rate, so I recommend checking out those, too. A Cast Member will be more than happy to double-check pricing for you and help find the 'best offer.' I just did this myself for my upcoming visit and ended up switching from the military rate to the current offer because it was a better deal. Since your trip is a few months away, you have plenty of time to book and check rates periodically.

Christine, I hope this helps! Have a great visit and a huge ‘Thank You’ from my military family to yours!

    See ya real soon,

    Shantel
