I have active Disney Magic Bands that I never picked up at the hotel because the reservation was cancelled last summer in June due to Covid. Would those magic bands still be available for my new reservation this October?

Hi there, Robin. I'm so glad you've dropped by planDisney with your question. I see that your rescheduled trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth is later this year, I'm so excited for you. You are going to have a great time.

Robin, since your last Walt Disney World vacation was canceled I don't think those old MagicBands would be available for you to use this trip. Were they the complimentary ones? If so, I think it is probably a no-go. However, if you upgraded to one of the fun colored MagicBands or the ones with the designs on them and paid additional for them, you would still certainly be entitled to get them. Because everything last year was so unprecedented, I actually can't give you an exact answer. However, I can point you in the right direction. What I would do, Robin, is give the MyDisneyExperience and MagicBand support line a quick call when you have some free time. It certainly never hurts to ask. The number you'll want to call is (407) 939-4357. Phone lines typically open up at 7:00 a.m. Mickey Mouse's time. The earlier you call the better. The call centers are experiencing a higher than normal call volume which is leading to longer wait times so be sure to do it early and on a day where you have a spare moment.

Since the beginning of this year, MagicBands are no longer complimentary with a Walt Disney World vacation package. You can either upgrade to include them before you go or wait until you are on vacation to purchase one. I suggest waiting because there are so many options once you are actually there. You can find MagicBands at most merchandise locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resorts and Theme Parks. If you don't really want to purchase a MagicBand, you can use a complimentary Keys to the World card that will open your resort room door and have your tickets linked to them for entry into the theme parks. You can pick these up when you check-in to the Walt Disney World Resort Hotel that you are staying at.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, Robin, feel free to come back here and ask me. Have a great day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
