How do we activate old magic bands? How do we sign up for transportation to resort from airport?

    Hello Robert!

With your visit just around the corner, you must be getting excited! I always appreciate a well planned out visit, so I applaud you for making sure you have everything ready!

In terms of old MagicBands, you are most likely already set to go. MagicBands are linked to Guests, not to specific vacations. This means that any MagicBands from previous trips that were linked to a member of your party, are still linked to that person and can be used on your upcoming trip, as long as the battery still works and you haven’t purposely deactivated them on your own. If you just took them home and put them away, they will still be active. The official guideline is that batteries work for approximately two years, though many Guests will report that the battery has worked longer than that. When I visit the Walt Disney World Resort, I actually bring multiple old MagicBands and wear different ones on different days to either match the park or my outfit for the day.

If you’d like to check the status of your old MagicBands, think you may have deactivated them, or if your bands only have serial numbers and you aren’t sure which MagicBand belongs to which family member, you can manage your MagicBands from your My Disney Experience Account under the My MagicBands & Cards option. I think this is easiest from a desktop computer, though it can be done with the mobile app. You can see which bands and cards you have, deactivate or reactivate old bands, mark them as lost, or if you purchase a new MagicBand at the parks or on shopDisney, you can link a new band to your account.

For Disney’s Magical Express, you can call to have this complimentary service added to your reservation. You'll find the number on the Disney's Magical Express Page under the heading: How to Reserve Disney's Magical Express. Make sure you have your flight information for both your arrival and departure flights and a Walt Disney World Cast Member will assist you in booking.

I hope this helps you get your plans in order, Robert. Please let us know if you have additional questions before your visit. We love talking Disney!
