how do I activate an old magic band?

    Hi Ana! Welcome to planDisney.

Sounds like you will be part of The World's Most Magical Celebration 50 yEARS in the making. Around the theme parks, you can indulge in specialty-themed treats found in the 50th Anniversary Sips and Bites Guide. Try the Walt's Chili-Cheese Dog from Casey's Corner at Magic Kingdom Park. Keep your eyes out for the golden Disney Fab 50 Character Collection statues.

One of my favorite Disney accessories is my ever-growing collection of MagicBands! Before each trip to the house of the mouse, I plan outfits and coordinate which MagicBands are getting packed. After the choices have been carefully made, I simply log in to My Disney Experience at disneyworld.com and hover over "My Disney Experience." Select "My MagicBands and Cards" and scroll down to "Manage MagicBands or Cards." Click on your name and a list of previously used and linked MagicBands to your account will appear. There is an "activate" or "deactivate" choice by each MagicBand. Bibbiddi-Bobbiddi-Boo!

Keep an eye out at Disney Parks Blog for any new announcements for the all-new MagicBand+ coming soon this summer. It promises to make your theme park experience even more immersive and interactive. Did you know you can also set up a Disney MagicMobile Digital Pass right on your smart device which negates the need for a physical ticket or MagicBand? Open the My Disney Experience Mobile App and click on the bottom right-hand corner. You will next select "Disney MagicMobile" and follow the prompts. Afterward add that pass to your Apple Wallet, Apple Watch, or digital wallet. I always suggest setting your pass to "Express Mode." At the gate, this will eliminate you from having to unlock your phone.

    Keeping it Magical,
