    Donna from NY Asked

How do I activate my old magic band?

Hello there, Donna! Thanks for stopping by planDisney to ask your question. I see that your vacation is quickly approaching, I bet you are getting so excited!

You are absolutely able to reuse a MagicBand from a previous trip, Donna. In fact, unless you went into your account and deactivated it after your last vacation, it should be good to go. It is super easy to check and reactivate it if necessary.

Do you have the MyDisneyExperience mobile app downloaded on your phone? If not, I highly suggest it. I think it makes doing anything in MyDisneyExperience so much easier! Once you have the app downloaded, go ahead and open it up and sign in if prompted. Then you are going to click the three horizontal lines on the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. This is going to open up a menu window. You are going to want to scroll down until you see "My Profile" and select that. This will bring up several options and you'll want to look for the one that says "MagicBands & Cards" and click that. Then, select the "Your MagicBands & Cards" option to view all of the MagicBands you have used while at Walt Disney World. From here, you'll be able to see which MagicBands are active and inactive and be able to toggle the inactive one back on again.

If you don't have the MyDisneyExperience app, you can do it from a computer as well. You'll log in to your MyDisneyExperience account and visit the "My MagicBands and Cards" section. You'll select the person you want to view MagicBands for and then will be able to see which ones are active or inactive. If you want to activate one that has been labeled inactive, you'll just click that option to do so.

I hope this helps, Donna. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help!

    Have a great day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
