Where do we activate military tickets at Disneyland? In the past we have activated tickets at guest services in Disney Springs before our first park day. Is there a place to do that in Downtown Disney? First trip out to California!

Hi Mollie! Thanks for visiting planDisney.

Disneyland Resort handles some things a little differently than the Walt Disney World Resort. While you had to activate your Military Salute tickets at Walt Disney World Resort before you entered a park, at Disneyland Resort, you'll show the Cast Member who scans your ticket at the entrance to the park your valid military ID. That's it! It's actually super simple, so I hope that's good news.

I just know you're going to have the best first visit at Disneyland Resort. I frequently visit both the Florida and California parks and Disneyland Resort really is something special. Be sure to check out the Attractions that are unique to Disneyland Resort. There are a lot of really charming ones in Fantasyland at Disneyland Park. My boys grew up loving Casey Jr. Circus Train, for example. But there also are some thrilling choices that are unique to Disneyland Resort like Indiana Jones Adventure in Adventureland or the Matterhorn Bobsleds in Fantasyland at Disneyland Park. Over at Disney California Adventure Park, you'll find Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! in Avengers Campus, the Incredicoaster on Pixar Pier, and Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land to be without equal. Plus, Cars Land is my favorite themed land at any Disney park I've visited. Just soak up the atmosphere.

Disneyland Resort is also known for its delicious snacks. My favorite is the Chile Mango Whip currently available at The Tropical Hideaway in Adventureland at Disneyland Park. If you're looking for dining location recommendations, my favorite Quick Service choice is in Frontierland at Disneyland Park: Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante has delicious Mexican-inspired menu items and plenty of seating. If you'd like to make dining reservations, you can do so 60 days out. Blue Bayou Restaurant in New Orleans Square is an iconic and immersive choice, which can fill up quickly. But we also love Carthay Circle Restaurant on Buena Vista Street or Lamplight Lounge on Pixar Pier in Disney California Adventure Park.

    Have a magical time!
