Hi there, Jordan, and welcome to planDisney!
First of all, congrats on joining the Walt Disney World Resort
Annual Passholder fam! I may be a bit biased, but it’s one of the best families to be a part of. And I know you’re feeling all warm and fuzzy thinking about pass activation day. You’ll experience fun attractions like
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and eat all of the yummy, Mickey-shaped snacks in no time.
One thing is for sure about your upcoming adventure into the world of virtual queuing: You’re not out of luck! You can most definitely join the Virtual Queue (currently available for
TRON Lightcycle / Run and, my favorite,
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind). I double checked with a friendly Cast Member, and yes, although your annual pass isn’t active yet, you can join by making a theme park reservation ahead of time.
Check the
theme park availability calendar to make sure your selected day and theme park is available for your ticket type (annual pass). You can make a theme park reservation by logging in to your My Disney Experience account and using the Disney Park Pass Reservation System. Select the Guests and tickets/passes that you’d like to use. Then follow the prompts to select your dates and theme parks. Doing this will ensure your party populates on the morning of signing up for a Virtual Queue boarding group.
I have even MORE great news, Jordan, you don’t have to be inside the theme park to get that coveted spot in the queue. At 7 a.m. EST, from anywhere, join the queue in your
My Disney Experience app. I actually like refreshing the screen at 6:59 a.m. EST to increase my chances to get in.
AN EXTRA GEM: If you don’t get a spot at 7 a.m., don’t fret! Hakuna Matata! Another Virtual Queue opportunity opens at 1 p.m. But you have to be inside the specific attraction’s theme park.
If you have any other questions as you count down to your vacation, please revisit us here at planDisney.
I’d be more than happy to help. Have a magical time, Jordan!
Magic always,
LeAndra
