Hi Fara!
Thanks for your question!
So last year we excitedly looked forward to our
first experience in Pandora – The World of Avatar at
Disney's Animal Kingdom. Like you, we were looking to get
FastPass reservations for
Na'vi River Journey and
Avatar Flight of Passage. We were successful in getting FastPasses for
Na'vi River Journey, but no such luck with
Avatar Flight of Passage. The wait time that day was 180 minutes, or 3 hours, so we elected to not wait that time. THIS YEAR, fortunately we were able to get FastPass reservations for Avatar Flight of Passage (yay!).
Although I've waited in the general standby line for a ride, and found that I was able to get on considerably shorter than what the standby time suggested, I would consider the wait times showing on the
My Disney Experience mobile app to be fairly accurate, and matches the wait time you'd see if standing right at the entrance of the attraction.
Now what I can say is if you choose to wait in line, you are right in that you're better off using the Morning Extra Magic Hours and getting in line almost immediately. The times for both attractions will continue to increase as the day progresses (especially for Avatar Flight of Passage), with those longer times sustaining sometimes up to park closure.
Hope this helps provide some insight. Have a magical time at
Disney World!
Terry
