According to past questions I should be able to add a payment method to all of my friends and family magic bands at the guest services desk of our resort. Does this allow each member to use their magic band to pay for meals in park? (No meal plan)

Well, hello, Patrick. I'm so happy you've been reading the answers to our questions and came to ask your first one. We are always happy to help Guests make the most out of their Disney vacations!  Just like Mary Poppins herself, a little organization can help everything feel lighter than a balloon on a windy day. Even managing vacation expenses. Shall we take flight?

If you'd like each Guest staying in your Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room to be able to separately pay for their charges through their MagicBand, as you suggested, you would simply tell a friendly Cast Member at the Front Desk. What the Cast Member will do is assign a credit card to that MagicBand, and every time that particular Guest charges something to the room, it will go on their own separate portfolio and be charged to that credit card at the end of the trip (or on the 5th day of a vacation longer than 5 days). And yes, I'm happy to report that this applies to all charges made on the MagicBand, including food! Think of it as adding a spoonful of sugar to your budgeting. This way, everyone can enjoy the fun while keeping their own charges neatly in order.

For added security, each Guest will need to establish a PIN that they'll need to input any time they charge something with their MagicBand. While the Cast Member at the Front Desk will likely explain the policy regarding credit card holds, you may want to read a little bit about it before your trip

A handy little feature of the My Disney Experience mobile app that some Guests don't realize exists is that you can keep track of your portfolio while on the trip. Simply log in to the app, select the three horizontal lines (≡) in the bottom right-hand corner, scroll a bit, and select "Hotel Reservations." Then, scroll down and click "View Charges" to see what's been charged back to the room on that band. This way, charges aren't a mystery, and you can determine how well you're sticking to your budget.

Also, if you have any Disney Gift Cards that you want to use toward your balance, you can usually ask a Cast Member at the Front Desk to apply whatever is on your gift card to the balance on your portfolio. Just make sure you do this the day before you check out at the latest, or on your fourth day if your stay is longer than five days.

Patrick, enjoy the perks of using your handy little MagicBand. With everyone’s charges organized and easy to track, your vacation can feel practically perfect in every way. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out again!

    With a spoonful of sugar,
    Matt
