We have accommodation reservations for early March at the Bay Lake Tower. We havne't purchased our park tickets yet - should we do that before we arrive? Is there an advantage? Can we just purchase our tickets when we arrive at our hotel?

    Hi Erin,

Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  My family and I always like to arrive at Walt Disney World with our Disney theme park tickets in hand.  Although there is not necessarily a monetary advantage to doing this, there are a few reasons that we like to do so.  First, by having your Disney theme park tickets before you go, you will be able to save time when you are at Walt Disney World.  You can purchase your theme park tickets from a Walt Disney World resort lobby concierge or of course at a theme park, but I prefer to spend any time that I would spend purchasing tickets already inside of the theme park.

The other, and more recent, advantage to getting your tickets ahead of time is so that you can link them to My Disney Experience.  If you have not done so yet, head over to the My Disney Experience website and set up an account.  You can link your resort reservation on My Disney Experience since you already have your resort reservation made.  Once you purchase your theme park tickets, you will be able to link them on My Disney Experience.  Linking your theme park tickets may allow you to make FastPass+ reservations, which will allow you to reduce your wait time for certain attractions.  Although the system is still in testing and not every guest will be selected to test the system and use FastPass+, it seems that currently most guests who are staying at a Walt Disney resort are able to do so.

Overall, my recommendation is that you purchase your Disney theme park tickets before you head to Walt Disney World, Erin.  Have a great time planning, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
