Welcome to planDisney, James!
Oh, I love a three generation trip to Walt Disney World! The memories my family has made on such adventures are absolutely priceless. Let's look at your options.
First, if you want to stay in one large room together, you cannot beat a 3 Bedroom Grand Villa at any one of the
Deluxe Villa Resorts. We've booked these spacious rooms when traveling with three generations or extended family, and I cannot rave enough about how accommodating they can be for large groups. All have multiple bathrooms, full kitchens, generous living areas, a washer and dryer in unit, outdoor seating, and enough dining space for everyone to gather together for snacks, games, and meals.
Our most recent Grand Villa was at
Disney's Old Key West Resort and it was the perfect setting for our group of 9. We've also enjoyed a three generation stay in a 3 Bedroom at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. There's nothing quite like spotting a grandparent on the spacious balcony leaning down to narrate the sights on the savanna to the little ones. Some of my favorite moments, indeed. Deluxe Villa resorts also offer studios, which sleep up to four adults, as well as 1 and 2 Bedrooms as well. A studio plus a 2 Bedroom or even a studio plus a 1 Bedroom could be just right for your upcoming visit.
We've also loved our stays in a Treehouse Villa at
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. There's a master bedroom and full bathroom, plus a second bedroom with a queen bed and a third bedroom featuring a bunk bed. In the living area, there's a queen-size sleeper sofa and two sleeper chairs plus ample room for dining. There's a hall bath, washer/dryer in unit, and a full kitchen, too. Out on the deck, there's plenty of seating and you'll even find a charcoal grill down on the ground level. We loved the decor so much, we borrowed a few design ideas from our Treehouse stay when it came time to remodel our master bath. It's so beautiful!
James, you could also consider Family Suites so that the grandparents could stay with one family, giving extra space for gathering together in the third family's suite. Family Suites at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort sleep up to 6 adults and offer 2 full bathrooms, living and dining area, kitchenette, plus a separate sleeping area for 2.
Disney's All-Star Music Resort also has Family Suites, so booking two of these might work perfectly for your visit as well.
As you consider all of the pixie-dusted possibilities for a 3 generation visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth, James, be sure to send additional questions our way. We love to help!
