Hiya, Jennifer! Welcome to planDisney. If you have
Lightning Lane passes booked, it means it won't be long before you are in the middle of the magic. Let's gooooo! I am so excited for you!
From your question, I assume you purchased a Lightning Lane Single Pass for some—but not all—people in your group. In this case, I would buy another Single Pass to ensure no one is left behind. If you cannot get the same return time, try to get as close as possible. You can also modify the original passes to get return times that are closer to these.
When I was in the same situation wanting to race the grid on
TRON Lightcycle / Run, we went to the attraction as soon as we arrived at
Magic Kingdom Park. A Cast Member with an iPad was able to help. I don't remember if they adjusted the times or just told us to come back at the first time slot and we would all be allowed in, but we rode together. Now, my friend
Candace is the sweetest, kindest person, and we said we were going to channel our innermost "Candace" and ask nicely. I don't know if that made a difference, but since we were asking for an exception that is not guaranteed, it certainly didn't hurt.
If passes are sold out and you cannot get another, the best you can do is keep trying and hope availability opens up. You can also
call My Disney Experience and MagicBands to see if there is anything they can do, but their options may be limited.
If you bought a Lightning Lane Multi Pass, I would do the same: purchase passes for anyone who does not have one. Make the same experience selections and try to get return times as close together as possible. You can also modify the initial selections to try to align times. These passes will be separate in the
My Disney Experience app, but once everyone has enjoyed their first Lightning Lane experience, you can start booking attractions together.
Jennifer, I know this is a lot of
"if... then," but I have one more "if."
If you want to follow up on this conversation and clarify anything I might have misunderstood, you can
ask me a question directly. You are also more than welcome to come back to
planDisney and ask any of us for assistance with this or any other Disney vacation planning questions.
'Ohana!
