Hey there, Carrie, and welcome to planDisney! I always love the opportunity to answer a question from a fellow Arizonan.
While you most definitely can
call the Tickets line to speak with a Cast Member about changing the name on your ticket, it is not required for park entry. When you all first enter the park, they will take a quick photo of each member of your party that is then associated with their individual ticket. You'll just need to make sure that each person uses their assigned ticket for the rest of the trip (their picture will pop up at the entry kiosk when their ticket is scanned).
The only reason to ask a Cast Member to help change the name would be if it helps you stay organized - especially in your
Disneyland mobile app. For example, if you have two tickets with your son's name on them then it's possible it might get confusing if your party was splitting up.
I'm thrilled to see that you all are visiting the Happiest Place on Earth in a few short weeks! There are so many fun things incorporated with the
Disney100 celebration - I especially love
Wondrous Journeys and the
"Magic Happens" Parade. Additionally, I got a chance to visit the recently reopened
Mickey's Toontown recently and loved it! There is a lot of fun for the whole family there, but I would specifically recommend taking a ride on
Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway followed by a nice picnic in one of the green areas with some of Daisy's Goody-Goody Donuts and a Specialty Cold Brrr-ew from
Café Daisy.
Thank you for your question, Carrie! Please feel free to
write me back directly if you think of any follow-up questions. I'd love to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
