Hey there, Dawn. Welcome to
planDisney. What a bummer that you’re having an issue with your
MagicBand+. They make things so convenient when they work properly.
Here it comes. I hate this part…
Once you assign a MagicBand+ to an account, there is no going back.
You can’t assign it to another account. I’m so sorry, but your husband is now the proud owner of your former MagicBand+. You can try calling the
App and MagicBand+ phone line to speak with a cast member to see if they can change it, but it's unlikely. If you can prove that it hasn’t been used and was obviously a mistake, maybe they’ll take pity on you.
I know this is a huge bummer. Let’s turn it around somehow. You could
buy yourself a second one and have matching MagicBands with your sweet husband. You could take it a step further and have marching outfits, head-to-toe! This mishap could be the beginning of an excellent tradition in your family.
I’ll also say that if you don’t want to purchase another MagicBand+, consider utilizing
MagicMobile. This basically allows your cell to perform the same convenient functions as your MagicBand+. You can scan tickets or passes into the parks, link your
PhotoPass images, make food and merchandise purchases, and even scan in to
Lightning Lanes. It’s an excellent backup option!
Dawn, MagicBand or not, I’m sure you’ll have an excellent time at the Most Magical Place on Earth. Be sure to catch the
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away parade in the evenings at
Magic Kingdom. I’m visiting this June and can’t wait to see Peter and Wendy fly over the London skyline on their float! It looks absolutely amazing!
I truly hope you can work things out with the MagicBands, and your family makes the most magical memories on your trip. If you have any other planning questions, don’t hesitate to ask at
planDisney.
I hope you have a magical day.
