I accidentally paired my granddaughters magic band to the band color my grandson wanted. I know I can’t remove her from the one I paired but he wouldn’t want the one my granddaughter wanted. I travel to Disney next week so what are may options?

    Hiya John!

Welcome to planDisney! My oh my, it seems you have gotten yourself into a bit of a pickle I'm glad you came here for help!

I don't know if you know this, but once a MagicBand is assigned to a guest it cannot be technically reassigned or transferred to another Guest. However, after a delightful conversation with a Disney Cast Member, I learned that there are some situations when a band that has not been used and has been accidentally assigned to someone else can be fixed. This depends on a few factors and is not guaranteed, but I would give it a try for the sake of your grandchildren's joy. I suggest you call My Disney Experience, MagicBand and MagicBand+. If this doesn't work, please don't worry. The easiest solution to consider is to purchase another MagicBand when you arrive at the Parks. Let your grandson pick out another even cooler band! MagicBands are sold in every Walt Disney World Resort Hotel gift shop as well as many shops throughout the Parks. I have found a pretty good selection at Disney's Pin Traders in Disney Springs.

Another solution that could be used until you find that new band is to use the Disney MagicMobile service and download your grandson's ticket to your phone's digital wallet. This way he can still enter the Parks and Lightning Lane entrances until he finds his perfect band. If you want something to hold that's cute and free, then head to a ticket booth located in front of any of the Parks and get set up with a ticket card. The ticket cards come in cute designs and are great to get even as a backup. I can't tell you how many times someone in my family loses their MagicBand and we are grateful for the ticket cards.

I hope this helps and if you have any more questions, please feel free to let me know!

    Happy Planning!

My husband and I work very hard to journey to our favorite place on Earth, Walt Disney World Resort, as much as we can. We have traveled as just adults, with babies, kids, teenagers, and senior citizens. We have seen so many characters, eaten at amazing places, and consumed a ton of Dole Whips. So "give a little whistle" and let me be your guide! Learn More About Nimmy
