Hi Ashley!
Welcome to planDisney! As my friend Princess Tiana would say, your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is getting
closer and closer every day! I’m sorry to hear you’ve run into some technical difficulties, but let’s
dig a little deeper into your MagicBand question.
Ashley,
MagicBand+ is one of my favorite accessories when visiting the parks. I have to confess that I've accumulated quite a collection over the years, as I like to switch up which bands I wear each day based on the park I'm visiting. . .and maybe even which ears I'm wearing, too! These handy Mouseketools are not only fashionable, but they're also functional. Being able to tap into
Lightning Lane entrances and make purchases with just a tap of the wrist means my hands are free for all of my favorite Mickey-shaped snacks! Unfortunately, once a MagicBand+ is linked to another Guest, it
cannot be reassigned for security purposes. If you have additional questions about MagicBands linked to you and your family, you can always reach out to a Cast Member by
calling App and MagicBand Support for assistance.
While I know this may not be the answer you were hoping for, I can offer some free alternatives that offer much of the same functionality. Guests can pick up a Key to the World Card at their Disney Resort hotel or at one of the theme parks. These are the size of a credit card and easy to carry in your pocket or wallet. My oldest son actually used this for most of a recent visit to Walt Disney World after losing his MagicBand+ early on in the trip. Another option is to utilize
Disney MagicMobile Service, which creates a pass that can be stored in your digital wallet. This is my husband's preference, as he can access the pass in his digital wallet through his smartwatch without needing to wear an additional band.
I hope this information has been helpful, Ashley, and that you enjoy your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World. If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney - we're all ears!
Cheers!
Kristi
