Hello Kristie!
Welcome to
planDisney! Thanks for sending your question to us. It's always a pleasure to assist fellow Guests with everything related to their upcoming magical adventures. Let's talk about your
MagicBand+ dilemma.
It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of your vacation and accidentally click the wrong button (or family member) as you finalize plans. Unfortunately, once a MagicBand has been assigned, it
cannot be reassigned or transferred to another Guest in your party. You can try
calling Walt Disney World to see if anything can be done, but at this point, be prepared to have your son wear the band linked to him.
I know this isn't what you hoped to hear, but I will offer a few ideas for making the most of the situation. While enjoying the theme parks, your daughter can wear the band assigned to your son if she hands it off to her brother when scanning into a theme park or
Lightning Lane entrance. No rule states you can't
wear someone else's MagicBand, only that you cannot use someone else's band to redeem entitlements like
theme park tickets. If your son doesn't want to wear or use the band linked to him, he can enter the theme parks using a
mobile device or plastic ticket card. Your daughter can wear his band, but make sure she uses a mobile device or plastic ticket card for her theme park entry. If your son wants to use a MagicBand+, you can buy one when you arrive at
Walt Disney World. They are available in nearly all merchandise locations, and you'll find a more extensive selection than in the online pre-arrival choices. It will be fine for him to have more than one MagicBand linked in his profile; I currently have three active bands in mine.
I hope this is helpful, Kristie, and that you find a solution for your family. I know my
Toy Story-loving son would not want to wear the flowery Princess Tiana MagicBand+ his sister picked out, so I understand your predicament. Thanks again for stopping by planDisney, and don't hesitate to reach out again if there is anything else we can do to assist with your upcoming trip.
Have a magical day,
Betsy
