    I accidentally booked our 1 day visit on an early closing date not realizing it was a Mickey Halloween party date, is it possible to switch to the next day even though the calendar says unavailable? We are coming from Alaska, first time visiting

    Hey there, hi there, ho there, Karissa.

    You’re as welcome as can be here at planDisney! I’m beyond excited to hear you are planning your first vacation to The Most Magical Place on Earth. You’ll be gazing upon Cinderella Castle before you know it. Let the final countdown commence!

    Unfortunately, if Theme Park Reservations are unavailable at Magic Kingdom Park on the day you want to switch your reservation to, you will not be able to make a reservation there that day. Not to worry though, because you have a couple of options.

    1. Keep your Theme Park Reservation as-is and go to Magic Kingdom Park even though it closes early that night. The park tends to be fairly empty during the daytime hours before party Guests start arriving at 4:00 p.m. with lower wait times for attractions and ample Disney Genie+ service Lightning Lane availability throughout the day. I recently did this and had the BEST DAY EVER! I did not have to wait more than 20 minutes for anything and used nine Disney Genie+ service Lightning Lane selections in less than four hours. There’s no guarantee your experience would be the same as mine was though, so that leads me to your second option.
    2. Upgrade your theme park ticket to include the Park Hopper Option, which allows you to visit more than one theme park on a given day. You could make a Theme Park Reservation for a different park and enjoy the morning there before Park Hopping over to Magic Kingdom Park for the evening once Park Hopper hours begin (currently at 2:00 p.m.). This option allows you to experience the best of two parks, while still giving you ample time in Magic Kingdom Park.
