Hey, Tracy. Welcome to
planDisney. I see that you’re arriving at the
Most Magical Place on Earth this coming Monday. How exciting! With the trip coming up quickly, I’m sorry if this issue with the
MagicBand+ has slowed down your planning.
Once you’ve assigned a MagicBand to an account, it cannot be changed. So, I think your daughter is now the proud owner of two MagicBands. There is no going back. I’m so sorry to bring that news to you. You can try calling the
App and MagicBand+ phone line to see if they’ll consider reassigning the second MagicBand to your son’s account, but no guarantees.
Normally, I’d suggest you order a new MagicBand+ from
DisneyStore.com and have it shipped to your house, but with how close you are to your trip, it may not arrive in time. With that in mind, I’d suggest purchasing a MagicBand as soon as you arrive at the Walt Disney World Resort. Many of the Disney Resort hotel gift shops carry MagicBands, or perhaps you could head to
Disney Springs to check the selection at
World of Disney.
If your kids have a cell phone, they can forego the MagicBand and use
MagicMobile. This basically allows your cell phone to perform the same convenient functions as your MagicBand+. You’ll be able to scan into
Lightning Lanes, link
PhotoPass images, make purchases, and even scan into the parks.
Tracy, I hope this doesn’t get you down. I know it’s a hassle, but you’re still going to have a great trip. I have to wait until June for my next visit. I'm so excited to check out the
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away parade. I’ve heard the part with Peter and Wendy flying over the London float is magical.
If you have any other questions or are just looking for tips for your trip, don’t hesitate to bring your questions to us at
planDisney.
I hope you have a magical day!
