Hi there, Aparna!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.
I'm happy to hear you're planning a visit to Walt Disney World Resort's
Magic Kingdom Park - where guests of all ages can immerse themselves in a world of enchantment, fantasy, and imagination. There's nothing quite like walking down Main Street U.S.A. and seeing the beauty of
Cinderella Castle!
There are many ways to get to Magic Kingdom - by car, by
bus, by
monorail, by
boat, and, from two Walt Disney World Resort hotels - by foot! Did you know that
Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa have walkways to the Magic Kingdom Park? The route from the Grand Floridian is a bit of a longer walk, but on a nice day is so scenic and peaceful. My family uses the walking paths often!
The walking path from
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort to Magic Kingdom Park offers guests a convenient and enjoyable way to reach the park without relying on other transportation options such as the Walt Disney Monorail or bus. While the path is open and accessible for anyone to use, the parking lot of Disney's Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower is reserved only for guests of the resort or those with a confirmed dining reservation. When arriving at the parking area, by private car or rideshare, you'll be asked by the security guard to provide a photo ID and a dining reservation confirmation or room key/MagicBand.
Both the Grand Floridian and Contemporary walking paths have security checkpoints before you enter Magic Kingdom, where guests will pass through metal detectors and are subject to a bag check.
The short answer is yes, anyone can use the walking paths, but you need to have a legitimate reservation - dining or lodging - to park at the resorts. I hope this helps answer your question!
