Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with an excellent question, Leanne!
As we prepare to return to the magic, the Walt Disney World Resort will be welcoming Guests following measures based on guidance from health authorities and appropriate government agencies. The wellbeing of all Guests and Cast Members will be a top priority, so in order to promote physical distance, cleanliness and reduced contact, important updates have been made to dining experiences.
Menus will be shared in ways that minimize contact. I noticed certain dining locations at Disney Springs handing out paper menus that could be disposed of after use, however at this time the
current dining update we have is that menus will be displayed in signage at quick-service locations and at table-service restaurants Guests will be able to scan a code with their mobile device to access digital menus.
Mobile food and beverage ordering as well as cashless payment options will be encouraged. With these changes, it is highly recommended to have a mobile device with the latest version of the
My Disney Experience mobile app.
Dr. Pam Hymel, Disney Parks Chief Medical Officer, has recently shared plans and considerations as the parks prepare for reopening. In order to promote physical distancing, she mentioned that they are currently exploring ways to use technology to help with these efforts, including virtual queues. No further information has been released yet, especially concerning how Guests without a mobile device will be accommodated, that is why I highly recommend constantly checking
updates on operations and
reopening.
Leanne, we understand that these recent announcements may impact your upcoming visit, that is why we are working to be able to answer your questions as quickly as possible. We look forward to providing updates as soon as more information becomes available, so please come back to visit us as you get closer to your travel dates.
Best magical wishes,
Thiana
