Can you access rooms via stairs instead of elevators at the Gran Destino Tower?

    Hi Stacey,

Welcome to planDisney, I love your thoughtful question about the facilities at Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort! This stunning, modern tower is a perfect complement to the traditional Spanish, Mexican, and Southwest American style of the original Disney's Coronado Springs Resort and offers additional amenities, dining, and business facilities.

It’s been a year or two since my last stay here, so I spoke with a friendly Cast Member at the resort to verify these important details for you. Yes, there are certainly stairways available for safety and emergency situations, but he shared that you may also use them by choice to access your room. While the stairway should be centrally located near the elevators featuring modern, smart-style technology, I suggest you confirm the exact location of a stairway intended for Guest daily use with a Cast Member in person at the lobby to be sure you don’t find yourself behind a locked door as you explore the path less traveled.

If you prefer to use the stairs for an extra health boost, I applaud you! Gran Destino Tower is sixteen floors high, with stunning views of three theme parks from the glorious Dahlia Lounge outdoor terrace and Toledo – Tapas, Steak, and Seafood restaurant. Between all that climbing and the many steps taken on a busy theme park day, be sure to save time for soaking in a relaxing hot tub to safely recover. The Dig Site is the proud location of the largest hot tub on Disney property, fitting up to 22 adults comfortably! I always pack a gallon-sized plastic resealable bag or two to make an ice pack for my own aching knee on these active vacations; find an ice bucket in your room and an ice machine on every floor of this tower for your convenience.

Gran Destino Tower offers convenient access to the Conference Center at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort if you plan to visit on business or for an event. No matter the reason for your visit, you are welcome to enjoy the amenities, dining options, and activities at both sections of this sprawling resort. My planDisney pal recently enjoyed the Spanish Mosaic Art experience here; they also offer painting and even a Sangria University! Three Bridges Bar and Grill at Villa del Lago is one of my favorite places with a wonderful atmosphere for a relaxed meal. Find it at (you guessed it) the intersection of the three bridges across the central waterfront of this property.

I hope this answers your question and is the information you were seeking in advance of your stay at the stunning Gran Destino Tower, Stacey! Please let us know if you have any additional questions; we love Disney details and have a passion for helping you make the most of this special trip.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Amy
