Hi Greg! Welcome to planDisney!
Oh boy! I hope your daughter is excited about her upcoming visit! I can't think of a better class trip than spending a day at the
Walt Disney World Resort! I don't recall doing anything that cool when I was in school!
Disney's Hollywood Studios is such an exciting park to visit at this time. She should have a fun-filled day with all of her friends! Kudos to you for being there to pick her up at the end of the day!
I'm happy to say that there is an area to pick up Guests without having to pay for parking! When you pull into the parking lot, let the Cast Member at the booth know you are there to pick up your daughter. There will be a lane dedicated to drop-offs/pickups, which is also used by many of the rideshare services. The area that she will need to meet you at is very close to the entrance of the
Disney Skyliner station. It should be a fairly simple process and you'll be on your way quickly once you get her.
Greg, I hope you get some time to visit the parks while you are there. With the
Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration in full swing, there are countless new experiences to enjoy. The two new nighttime spectaculars at the Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT are amazing shows and should not be missed. If you don't have park tickets, you can spend some time at
Disney Springs.
Gideon's Bakehouse opened up fairly recently and is already a staple there. I have been talking about these cookies for a few years now and could not have been more excited when they decided to open up a shop here at Disney Springs. They are known for their nearly half-pound cookies and variety of cakes. Before dessert, check out
The BOATHOUSE just around the corner. It's the perfect mix of delicious food and a beautiful ambiance.
I hope your daughter has an amazing time on her class trip!
See ya real soon!
Greg
