Will we have access to balcony for fireworks with Chef Mickeys reservation and if so how far in advance should we be there to secure a spot. Also, do you have any suggestions for celebrating my granddaughter's 4th birthday?

    Hi Deb!

We love celebrating birthdays with dinner at Chef Mickey's!  It's our favorite character dinner.  We always order a special celebration cake when we are celebrating.  The pastry chefs at Disney's Contemporary Resort are amazing with their creations and they taste just as good as they look.  You can pink the theme and flavors and any additional decorations you'd like.  My favorite cake so far has been a Lilo & Stitch cake.  It had edible chocolate sea shells!  To order a specialty cake, call the cake hotline at 407-827-2253.  To get an idea of pricing and options available, do a simple Google search for "Disney Food Blog specialty cakes".  Any leftover cake you have can be boxed up and you can take it with you.

The fourth floor balcony at Disney's Contemporary Resort is accessible to any Guest wanting to watch the fireworks, however, the last time I was at the resort, it was under construction.  I'm hoping it has either opened back up or will be open by the time of your vacation.  An alternative to watching from the balcony is on the walkway from the Contemporary to the Magic Kingdom.

Be sure to pick up a complimentary birthday button from any Guest Relations or Resort front desk.

    Have a magical day!
