Hi! Are we able to visit a friend at the Boardwalk as a non-resort/ non-passholder guest to join them for dinner at one of the eateries?

    Hi Michelle!
    Welcome to planDisney.

Relaxing with friends is one of my favourite things to do at Walt Disney World, whether it's enjoying park fun together, at the water parks, or just spending time at the Disney Resort hotels in the most lovely of surroundings.

Yes, you may visit your friends at Disney's BoardWalk for a dinner reservation, even with no hotel reservation or park tickets.  When you arrive, advise security at the entrance that you are visiting for dinner, and give them the name of your friend and details of the reservation.

There is a lot to enjoy at Disney's BoardWalk with restaurants and entertainment, or just an ice cream or coffee while you watch the friendship boats sail past on Crescent Lake.  You have a very nice selection of restaurants to choose from, both at the BoardWalk, or a short walk away at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts.  I particularly like Cape May Cafe for Minnie's Beach Bash Breakfast at Disney's Beach Club Resort, and Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disney's Yacht Club Resort.  On the BoardWalk itself, Trattoria al Forno is another favourite, and I'm looking forward to enjoying dinner at Flying Fish next time I visit.

You may visit any Disney Resort hotel for dining, or just to explore the resort. It should be noted that the use of any hotel pool is restricted to guests with an overnight reservation.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions, and you can send me a direct question if you wish.  We will be happy to help you plan your magical visit to Walt Disney World!
